There are games, food, activities and all round fun. The programme is free for ages 11-17. Every week there’s something different and there opportunities to grow in leadership and experience new things.

Wellness Workshops

Project Description

A series of workshops on each of the 8 segments of holistic wellness and the four walls of Te Whare Tapa Wha.

1.     Occupational Wellness

Tools for finding strengths and passions for work and career lines.

2.     Financial Wellbeing

Understanding money as seed and the unique position of investing as a young person.  Learning to budget and grow wealth, no matter how much you earn.

3.     Physical Wellbeing

Physical wellness focusing on nutrition, exercise and sleep.  This will be in conjunction with Run Rewa – a community Fun Run organized by What Hope Community Trust. It aligns with Taha Tinana.

4.     Social Wellbeing

The power of connection and support.  These workshops will focus on who is in your waka to support you to reach your potential.  This is also supported by our weekly programmes as a vehicle for social wellbeing and belonging.  It aligns with Taha Whanau.

5.     Intellectual Wellbeing

This workshop explores the power of the mind.  The objective is to expose rangatahi to think big and to unlock their potential.  Intellectual wellbeing is about the power of a strong mind, problem solving and creative expression.

6.     Environmental Wellbeing

The workshop is about understanding our environment and what it means to be kaitiaki of our environment for the next generation. It will look at our ecological footprint and sustainability principles. How are we enjoying our natural environment.

7.     Emotional Wellbeing

This is essentially tools around mental health and emotional health.  We will cover tools to support emotional wellbeing and its importance to overall wellbeing.  We have a qualified Counsellor who will be leading this.  It aligns with Taha Hinengaro.

8.     Spiritual Wellbeing

This aligns with Taha Wairua.  It explores the spiritual aspect to wellbeing and will include talanoa from rangatahi to rangatahi.  We recognize spiritual wellbeing is a journey of personal discovery.

Manurewa High School

We have run a series of programmes at Manurewa High School. Our current offering is a Waananga programme that explores hauora and holistic wellness.

We believe in the power of partnership. It takes a village to raise a child. As a grass-roots community youth organisation we partner with Manurewa High School to offer tools for rangatahi to thrive. We believe that rangatahi need support in our areas of well-being to thrive. Our partnership with Manurewa High School is a way we can support learners with well-being so that they can also thrive in education.
